On Friday, July 5, 2019, Everton is set to arrive in Nairobi, Kenya, marking the first time Kenyan football fans will see the English club in action in their new Umbro kit for the 2019-20 season.

As part of their historic trip, Everton will take on Kariobangi Sharks in a highly billed pre-season SportPesa Trophy friendly match at the 60,000-seater Moi International Sports Centre on Sunday at 4pm.

During their visit, the club will also donate used uniforms and merchandise to underprivileged teams through the Kits for Africa initiative and launch an Everton fans club in Nairobi.

The new Everton kit features a bold design of twist criss-crosses on the royal blue jersey, bearing the identity of sponsors SportPesa and Angry Birds.

Everton legend Leon Osman expressed his excitement about the match, stating, 'It should be a very lively game even though we just started pre-season training on Monday.'

Osman also mentioned that the visiting squad includes first-team players, including new signing Andre Gomes from Barcelona, and talented young players who will get an opportunity to play.

Former Everton player and South African international Steven Pienaar echoed Osman's sentiments, praising Sharks for their positive energy and attractive playing style.

Security has been assured for the match, with dozens of personnel from various departments and fields set to be deployed. Match tickets are available for purchase at Sh1,000 for VIP and Sh100 for fans watching from the terraces.
