As the year draws to a close, it's not too late to start saving and working towards financial freedom. One option is to join a Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO) entity, such as Metropolitan National Sacco.

With over 40 years of operation, Metropolitan National Sacco has established itself as a reliable and diverse financial institution. Initially catering to teachers, the Sacco has expanded to include members from government ministries, parastatals, Kenya Defence Forces, National Police Service, public and private universities, colleges, academies, and the private sector.

Membership is open to a wide range of individuals and entities, including salaried and non-salaried people, business entities, minors, and commissions. To join, one needs to provide a passport photo, a copy of their National Identification Card, pay a Sh 1000 membership fee, and produce a recent payslip for employed members.

Metropolitan National Sacco is regulated by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (Sasra) and has a growth strategy anchored on diversification, customer service excellence, and developed products.

The Sacco offers two loan products: Normal and Emergency loans. These can be accessed by filling out forms in the branch. In line with its new strategy, the Sacco has also introduced a mobile banking solution, M-Metro Cash, which allows members to access up to Sh20,000 loan through their mobile phone, provided their salaries are channelled through the FOSA section and they have been active members for the last three months.
