On October 5, 2021, a severe storm hit Kisumu, causing significant damage to the Nation Media Group's office in Mega Plaza along Oginga Odinga Street.
The strong winds shattered windows on the 7th floor, leaving one reporter seriously injured and several others bruised.
Photos of the damage were shared on social media by Senior Reporter NTV Seth Olale.
According to reports, the storm also destroyed media equipment in the building, with almost all the window glasses broken.
The Meteorological department had announced a change in weather conditions, warning of heavy rains in most parts of the country.
