Tourism PS Safina Kwekwe Mourns Loss of 16-year-old Daughter Saumu

On October 5, 2021, the life of Tourism Principal Secretary Safina Kwekwe was forever changed with the loss of her 16-year-old daughter Saumu Dzame Mohamed Ngando.

According to reports, Saumu was receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital for an undisclosed illness when she sadly passed away.

President Uhuru Kenyatta extended his condolences to PS Kwekwe's family, describing Saumu as a 'promising daughter full of potential and promise of a bright future.'

'It is heart shattering to lose a child who was about to transition into the most exciting phase of her life,' the President said in a statement. 'It is a painful experience for you as a family, her friends, her school mates, and everyone else in her sphere.'

President Kenyatta also shared in the family's loss, wishing them God's comfort as they come to terms with the devastating turn of events.

He prayed that the family would forever cherish and treasure the memories of love and joy that Saumu brought to their lives.
