On June 26th, 2019, Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua alias Jaguar was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) outside Parliament buildings.
He was taken into police custody after being captured on camera threatening to forcefully evict foreigner traders operating shops in Nairobi a day earlier.
On Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019, Jaguar appeared before Milimani Court Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, where he was charged with incitement to violence.
He denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh500,000.
The court heard that Jaguar made utterances intended to incite Kenyans against foreign nationals living in the country on June 24th, 2019, at Nyamakima in Nairobi.
The case will be mentioned on July 17th, 2019.
