On October 4, 2021, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) launched a manhunt for a foreigner suspected of pushing a 25-year-old woman off the balcony of his bedroom at a storey house in Nyali, Mombasa.
The incident occurred in the wee hours of Monday morning, with the DCI stating that the foreigner was suspected to have thrown the woman from the balcony.
According to the DCI, the deceased's body was discovered by the security guard manning the apartment, who reported hearing the woman screaming as she fell from the apartment.
The foreigner reportedly fled from the crime scene after the incident, oblivious of the fact that the detectives obtained his details, which were shared with the multi-agency team tracking him down.
"Nyali-based detectives are pursuing a man suspected to have murdered his lover at 3 am today morning, by throwing her from the balcony of their bedroom in Nyali," an excerpt of the statement read.
Residents of the building stated that they saw the man jumping off the building, followed by the woman.
