Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye edition came to a close on Sunday, October 3, 2021, with Whitemoney, real name Hazel Oyeye Onou, emerging as the winner. He took home a grand prize of 90 million Naira (approximately 24 million Kenyan shillings) after garnering 47 percent of the votes in the final week.
Whitemoney, a creative native of Enugu State, beat 25 other housemates to clinch the prize after an intensely competitive 77 days. This season marked a first in the show's history, as the game ended with a top-6 instead of a top-5.
Whitemoney joins an elite list of BBNaija winners, including Katung, Efe, Miracle, Mercy, and Laycon. He is expected to leverage the opportunity the BBNaija platform has offered him to push his career.
The sixth edition of the BBNaija franchise was a success, with over a billion votes recorded, an unprecedented number of auditions, and broken social media engagement records. The innovative changes to the show and twists kept viewers on their toes and constantly trying to figure out Big Brother's next move.
The grand finale featured live performances by Nigerian superstars Made Kuti, Avala, and Laycon, as well as a surprise performance by Lojay and Ajebo Hustlers.
