On July 4, 2019, Chelsea Football Club confirmed the appointment of Frank Lampard as their new manager, marking a significant return to the Premier League for the club legend.

Lampard will succeed Maurizio Sarri, who left the club to join Juventus this summer, on a three-year deal reportedly worth KSh 645 million (£5m) per season.

With this appointment, Lampard joins the elite club of Premier League managers, becoming the eighth highest-paid manager in the division.

His salary brings him on par with Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers but leaves him as the lowest-paid boss among the top six.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola remains the highest-paid Premier League boss, earning more than double any other manager in the division.

It remains to be seen how Lampard will fare at Stamford Bridge after enjoying a relatively successful debut into football management with Derby County last season.
