George Kimando, a theatre enthusiast, shares a personal reflection on the power of prayer and forgiveness, drawing inspiration from a skit titled 'If God Spoke.'
Kimando's love for theatre began in primary school, where he wrote his first play, which won a category in the division finals. He continued to write plays and film scripts, but found that theatre didn't pay well, with the most he earned being 30k for a film script and 5k for a play.
However, Kimando's love for theatre remains strong, and he believes it has a unique ability to simulate reality and stretch the imagination. He recalls a skit he did, 'If God Spoke,' which explores the idea of God responding to prayers.
In the skit, a character named Steve prays to God, and God responds, asking Steve if he has been letting God's will be done in his life. Steve is startled and begins to question his own faith and trust in God.
Kimando uses the skit to reflect on the importance of genuine prayer and forgiveness. He asks if people go to God as a matter of routine, just doing their prayers without truly trusting and surrendering to God's will.
He also questions whether people mean their prayers when they ask for forgiveness, or if they are simply going through the motions. Kimando encourages readers to have an introspective Sunday and a great week ahead, reflecting on their own faith and trust in God.
