On October 3, 2021, Ethiopia's Sisay Lemma made history by winning the men's London Marathon in a time of two hours four minutes and one second.
Breaking away from the leading pack late in the race, Lemma secured a convincing victory, crossing the line 27 seconds ahead of Kenya's Vincent Kipchumba, who took second place.
Finishing third was Mosinet Geremew, while defending champion Shura Kitata came in sixth.
London Marathon saw some of the world's top athletes compete for the top spot.
