On a fateful Sunday morning, the residents of Dixel apartments in Mtwapa, Kilifi County, were jolted awake by the sound of a car alarm at around 2 am. The noise was caused by a couple who had allegedly fallen from the fifth floor of their residence, landing on a vehicle.
According to Martina Mkare, a neighbour who witnessed the scene, the two bodies were found lying lifeless on the ground, with one of them completely naked and the other scantily dressed. Mkare recounted, “We found two dead bodies lying on top of each other next to the car.”
Neighbours reported that the couple had moved into the apartment about a month ago, and some of them had heard a struggle minutes before the bodies were discovered. Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that the duo may have had a struggle prior to the incident, as evidenced by blood spots in the house.
The bodies have been taken to the morgue for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of their deaths.
