On September 21, 2021, TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya Plc, formerly Total Kenya, announced the appointment of Olivier Van Parys as its new Director and Chairman of the Board.
Parys, a 26-year veteran of TotalEnergies, succeeds Jean-Philippe Torres, who resigned from the position he held since September 2018.
As Executive Vice President of East and Central Africa Division at TotalEnergies in Paris, France, Parys has extensive experience in the oil industry.
Under Parys' leadership, TotalEnergies has undergone significant changes, including the appointment of Eric Fanchini as its new CEO in August 2021, replacing Olagoke Aluko.
These changes follow the company's rebranding campaign as it shifts towards renewable energy.
As part of TotalEnergies, a global energy company, TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya operates in Kenya since 1955 and is the first multinational oil company to be quoted on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).
According to the company's unaudited financial statements for the period ended June 30, 2021, TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya's half-year net profit rose to KSh 1.7 Billion compared to KSh 1.1 Billion in H1, 2020.
