On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, Quickmart has opened a new branch in Kisii town, further solidifying its presence in Kenya's retail market.
Located in the heart of Kisii Central Business District, the 46th Quickmart store is part of the retailer's expansion strategy to have a store in all leading towns in Kenya.
Speaking during the official opening, Quickmart's Head of Marketing, Betty Wamaitha, emphasized the retailer's commitment to serving the domestic market and bringing its fresh and daily offerings closer to the Kisii community.
‘As part of our ongoing celebrations of 15 years of service, our business strategy is consistency in serving the domestic market and bringing our fresh and daily offering closer to the Kisii community and all travellers enroute via Kisii town,' said Wamaitha.
The new store will create a platform for farmers within Kisii and its environs to supply fresh produce to the store, increasing the current supply network of over 600 businesses and benefiting over 24,000 farmers.
Quickmart's expansion network began in 2006 with its first store in Nakuru town, growing its footprint to Nairobi and gradual presence in various counties across Kenya.
Notably, the retailer's expansion has been fueled by the merger between Quickmart and Tumaini Supermarkets in August 2020, which was approved by the Competition Authority of Kenya.
