On July 4, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta delivered a eulogy at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi, Kenya, where he shared his last conversation with the late Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore.

According to Uhuru, Collymore had called him several times from Canada, claiming he had an urgent matter he wanted to discuss with him. Uhuru had visited Collymore at his home after returning from Canada, where he was finally able to learn about his friend's health situation.

Collymore had told Uhuru that his time on earth was over and all he wanted was to protect his wife and children. 'I have gone to break a promise I made a year ago, I do not know if I have many days left, I have tried everything I could, but my time here is over, my page is closed. There is nothing anyone can do for me now, except to protect my wife and children,' Collymore said in his final conversation with Uhuru.

Uhuru Kenyatta has revealed the last conversation he had with Bob Collymore before his death, where Collymore expressed his desire to protect his family.
