On October 1, 2021, a tragic incident occurred at Laikipia University's Nakuru Campus, where a first-year student, Getrude Chepkoech, lost her life in a hostel.
According to reports, Chepkoech was attacked by a boyfriend of one of her friends, who stabbed her multiple times before turning the knife on himself.
The attacker was rushed to Nyahururu County Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Nyahururu sub-county police commander Mary Kiema confirmed that Chepkoech was alone in the house when the attack occurred.
