Trans Nzoia Man Dies After Being Beaten by Police

On September 28, 2021, at around 8:45pm, Douglas Momanyi witnessed a brutal attack by police officers on his friend Robinson Manyonge, alias Loketo, in Trans Nzoia.

According to Momanyi, the officers, Cpl David Sendera, Lius Kiprop, and NPR Antony Wangunda, beat them up and later left them behind after boarding two motorcycles.

Josephine Kamidi, Loketo's mother, reported that her son died while undergoing treatment at Trans Nzoia County Referral Hospital.

Kiminini OCPD Francis Tumbo, DCIO Joseph Adongo, and OCS Meshack Kipchumba visited the scene as part of the investigation.

Three officers, Sendera, Kiprop, and Wangunda, are currently in custody.
