Samsung Galaxy A80 Arrives in Kenya ¶
July 4, 2019 - Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy A80 in Kenya, a high-end smartphone that boasts a unique rotating camera mechanism. The device is now available for purchase across Samsung stores countrywide.
Back in April, Samsung announced seven new phones for the Kenyan market, dubbed the A-series for 2019. The A80 was one of the devices that had not launched locally at the time of the announcement. However, all the A-series for 2019 devices are now available in Kenya.
Samsung has categorized the A50, A70, and A80 as Performance and Innovation drivers, while the rest (A2 Core, A10, A20, and A30) are the Value Drivers. The Performance and Innovation drivers are targeting people looking for premium high-end specs but cannot get their flagships S and NOTE series.
Charles Kimari, Samsung East Africa's head of Mobile Communications, said in an official release, “The world is evolving from the ‘era of the selfie’ to the ‘era of live’, where people are fostering more genuine and meaningful connections. The Galaxy A80 will drive this evolution. The Gadget will offer compelling innovations: a captivating, full-screen display, Samsung’s first revolutionary rotating camera and an intelligent battery”
