Peak and Dale Solutions Limited: Digital Agency of the Year ¶
Located on the fifth floor of Mitsumi Business Park in Westlands, Peak and Dale Solutions Limited's offices may seem deserted, but this is intentional. As a digital agency, their job is to get businesses online, and their paperless, minimalist setup reflects this.
With 12 years of experience, Peak and Dale Solutions Limited has won the digital agency of the year award at the Kenya E-Commerce Awards. The company focuses on digital solutions like e-commerce websites, website designs, content management systems, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and domain registration.
Ms. Mwirichia, the company's representative, spoke to Enterprise about the growth of her company and the industry at large. When asked about the trends she has witnessed in the digital space for businesses, she noted that a lot has changed over the years.
Initially, there were only a few women in the tech industry, but the numbers have since multiplied. Technologies that were once difficult to adapt are now being adopted, and teleconferencing, which was once hesitant, is now entrenched. Peak and Dale Solutions Limited is currently a Microsoft and Google Workspace partner.
When asked how the company makes itself stand out, Ms. Mwirichia explained that from the beginning, they have positioned themselves as a digital agency, focusing on digital solutions. They have certifications to prove their expertise and are masters in pay per click marketing.
Businesses were initially hesitant to adopt digital marketing, but the company has been able to convince them of its power. The beauty of digital marketing is that it allows for tailored audiences, resulting in a higher return on investment.
Ms. Mwirichia noted that the uptake of technology solutions is higher among new companies, but old companies are also starting to go online. The company has partnered with many influencers to help with digital marketing on social media platforms and has done a lot of pay per click marketing.
When asked if there is a difference in the digital solutions that old and new businesses seek, Ms. Mwirichia replied that while both want to achieve the same things, larger corporates are more demanding in the kind of space they want to occupy on the digital front.
The coronavirus pandemic has helped the industry, with a sudden growth in e-commerce websites. Ms. Mwirichia noted that the pandemic has been a blessing in disguise for companies like hers, as they were busy providing digital services while other companies were going out of business.
When asked how companies approach their services, Ms. Mwirichia explained that most clients do not know what they want, and the company has a process of working with them to determine their digital strategy.
Ms. Mwirichia also noted that companies that are yet to embrace the digital space often give excuses such as not being sure if they will make sales or get a return on investment. She advises these companies to try digital marketing, as they will definitely see results.
