July 4, 2019 - Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy A80 in Kenya, marking the latest addition to its Galaxy A series of smartphones.
The Galaxy A80 is priced at Kshs 65,000, making it the priciest device in the Galaxy A series currently available in the country.
What sets the Galaxy A80 apart from other devices in the series and its competitors is its innovative pop-up tri-lens rotating camera, a first from Samsung.
The camera features a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with a 123-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 3D depth-sensing sensor. The cameras function as both the front and rear cameras, thanks to the device's elaborate pop-up and rotating mechanism.
Other notable features of the Galaxy A80 include its 6.7-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display, 8GB memory, 128GB onboard storage, an octa-core Snapdragon 730 processor, and a 3,700mAh battery.
The device was initially expected to be available in Kenya in May, but it finally made its debut in the local market two months later.
