On Friday night, a tragic incident occurred at Wingu Bistro club in Ruaka, Kiambu County, resulting in the loss of a young man's life.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim, Brian Macharia, had an altercation with a bar worker after breaking a glass. The situation escalated when a bouncer intervened, leading to a brutal assault on Macharia.

CCTV footage obtained by Litkenya.com shows the bouncer and the bar worker returning to the scene, where the bouncer proceeded to beat Macharia, who appeared to be intoxicated.

As the assault continued, some club patrons attempted to intervene, but their efforts were thwarted by the bouncers, who blocked their path.

Outside the club, located on the sixth floor of a high-rise building, the bouncer's brutality knew no bounds. Macharia was left bleeding profusely, with his shirt torn apart.

Tragically, the bartender locked Macharia in the club's store, where his body was later found on the ground floor, with eyewitnesses claiming he was thrown out from the sixth floor.

His father described the multiple injuries sustained by Macharia, including those to his waist, hands, and legs.

Following the incident, Kiambaa sub-county police commander Phineas Rigera announced that three suspects had been apprehended, including the club owner, a bouncer, and a staff member. The police are also pursuing additional individuals who may have been involved.

As a result of the incident, the club's license has been suspended, and the police are left to ponder whether the curfew is being effectively enforced.

President Uhuru Kenyatta had previously directed that all entertainment joints and eateries should close at 9 pm, one hour before the commencement of the nationwide curfew.
