Microsoft Unveils Surface Pro X with LTE Connectivity and 64-bit Emulation

Microsoft has launched the Surface Pro X, a thin, light, and LTE-connected tablet running on its Microsoft SQ2 ARM silicon. The device features a 13-inch touchscreen display, 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and a custom-built Microsoft processor delivering fast, 8-core performance.

With Windows 11 and 64-bit emulation built in, the Surface Pro X offers a wide range of applications, including Microsoft Teams and Office, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, and more. The device also features a new Wi-Fi-only model, making it more affordable and accessible to customers.

The Surface Pro X starts at $899.99 and is available for pre-order in select markets. Key features include:

  • 13-inch touchscreen display with 2880 x 1920 resolution
  • 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM
  • Custom-built Microsoft processor with 8-core performance
  • Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity
  • Up to 15 hours of battery life

Microsoft has also highlighted the device's security features, including a firmware TPM chip and enterprise-grade protection with Windows Hello face sign-in.

The Surface Pro X is available in two models: the Wi-Fi-only model and the LTE-enabled model. The device is compatible with a range of accessories, including the Surface Pro Signature Keyboard and the Surface Slim Pen 2.

Microsoft has announced that the Surface Pro X will be available for pre-order starting at $899.99 in select markets.
