On September 25, 2021, Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko celebrated a milestone in her academic journey by graduating with a Master's Degree in International Relations from the United States International University-Africa.

As seen on social media, the lawmaker shared pictures of her graduation ceremony, proudly showcasing her new academic achievement.

MP Mboko's graduation comes after she had previously pursued her education, graduating with a Diploma in Public Relation from the University of Nairobi in 2005 and later earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Communication and Public Relations from Moi University in 2012.

Her achievement is notable, especially given the recent announcement by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati that, as of the 2022 General Election, candidates for certain seats will be required to hold a university degree.

"We follow the law and the Election Act clearly state that all candidates in the six elective positions must have a university degree to qualify to run for office," Chebukati stated.

MP Mboko expressed gratitude to those who supported her in her academic journey and thanked those who congratulated her on her achievement.

"The day has finally come. What a journey this has been. Master of Arts in International Relations," the Likoni lawmaker wrote on social media.
