Kenya's Covid-19 Cases Rise to 248,392

On Saturday, 25th September 2021, Kenya confirmed 323 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, bringing the country's caseload to 248,392.

According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the cases were detected from 5,606 samples tested, raising the total to 2,533,467. The country's positivity rate stands at 5.8 per cent.

Of the new cases, 317 are Kenyans while six are foreigners, with 167 being females and 156 males. The youngest case is a two-month-old baby, while the oldest is 104 years old.

Mr Kagwe also confirmed that 432 patients had recovered from the disease, with 387 from the home-based and isolation care programme and 45 from various health facilities. This has increased the total number of recoveries to 239,730.

The Covid-19 death toll rose to 5,096 after 14 more patients succumbed.
