On September 22, 2021, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his team's readiness for the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, describing it as the 'most special game of the season.'
Despite Spurs' recent struggles, having lost twice to London sides Crystal Palace and Chelsea, Arteta dismissed the importance of form, citing the return of fans to the stadium as a key factor.
'They (Arsenal's players) do (know the importance) and I will make sure they understand what it means. The history between the two teams and where it came from and what it means emotionally to our supporters,' Arteta said.
Arteta also acknowledged the threat posed by Tottenham striker Harry Kane, the derby's all-time top scorer with 11 goals, who has yet to open his account in the league.
'I think he's played in that role for a while and when you look at the numbers, at the assists that he's able to create and the goals that he's scoring, it's always on the top of the table. I don't think that has changed a lot,' Arteta said.
With Arsenal looking to build on their recent winning streak, Arteta emphasized the need for his team to be cautious and prepared for the challenges posed by Spurs.
