On Thursday, Kenya confirmed 247,675 COVID-19 cases, following 317 new cases from a sample of 6,129 tested in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate dropped to 5.2% from 6% the previous day, with a total of 2,520,607 tests conducted so far.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that 301 Kenyan patients and 16 foreigners had tested positive, with the youngest patient being six days old and the oldest 99.
Of the new cases, 160 were male and 157 were female.
The distribution of cases by county showed Nairobi with 79 cases, followed by Kajiado with 36, and Uasin Gishu with 24.
Kenya also reported 27 new deaths, bringing the total toll to 5,045, with all the deaths being late reports from audits of facility records from June to September.
CS Kagwe further announced that 177 more patients had recovered from the disease, with 130 recovering in hospital and 47 at home, raising the total recoveries to 238,884.
As of Thursday, 1,268 patients were admitted to health facilities, while 2,733 were in the home-based care programme.
Of the patients in hospital, 96 were under intensive care, with 63 on ventilator support, 28 on supplemental oxygen, and five under observation.
Another 377 patients were on supplemental oxygen, with 361 in general wards and 16 in high dependency units.
As of Thursday, 3,507,836 vaccine doses had been administered, with 2,631,821 being first jabs and 876,015 second jabs.
The uptake rate of the second dose stood at 33.6%, with recipients including 250,226 people aged 58 years and above, 140,358 health workers, 128,129 teachers, 73,788 security officers, and 283,514 ungrouped individuals.
