A woman's joke about a friend's relationship has sparked a heated debate on social media after she was removed from a wedding WhatsApp group.
According to Kiga Bae, the woman who was removed, she was joking when she said the relationship would 'end in tears'.
However, the bride took her comment seriously and removed her from the group.
On Twitter, Kiga shared a screenshot of the group conversation and explained what happened.
She wrote, 'I just said “it will end in tears” jokingly and the bride removed me from the wedding WhatsApp group.'
Many social media users praised the bride for removing the negative comment, with some even joking that they would do the same if they were in her shoes.
However, not everyone agreed, with some users arguing that the comment was just a joke and the bride overreacted.
One user, @FanaMatimba, pointed out that it's easier to misinterpret a joke in a text message than in a face-to-face conversation.
Another user, @leonaverione, shared a personal experience of being left out of a wedding and joked that weddings are a sign of insecurity.
