Covid-19 Cases Surge in Kenya: 402 New Cases Reported

On September 22, 2021, the Ministry of Health announced 402 new Covid-19 cases in Kenya, bringing the national tally to 247,358.

Of the new cases, 393 were Kenyans and nine were foreigners, with 206 males and 196 females affected. The youngest case was a one-year-old child, while the oldest was 101 years old.

Unfortunately, the national death toll rose to 5,018, with 10 more patients succumbing to the disease.

However, 259 patients have recovered from the disease, with 182 recovering through the Home-Based Isolation and Care program and 77 from various health facilities countrywide.

There are currently 1,306 patients admitted in various health facilities, while 2,857 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program. Additionally, 94 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 66 on ventilatory support, 21 on supplemental oxygen, and seven under observation.
