On July 4, 2019, Safaricom Chief Customer Officer Sylvia Mulinge paid a touching tribute to her late boss Bob Collymore, who passed away on July 1, 2019, at the age of 61.
According to Mulinge, Collymore was a 'mighty tree' who provided shelter and courage to those around him. She described him as a 'room maker' who welcomed people and gave them a seat at the table.
'You were a history maker, a captain who walked down the path of purpose with courage and resilience, determined to live for that which was bigger than yourself and use your platform to do good,' Mulinge wrote in her tribute.
Collymore's Memorial Service was underway at the All Saints Cathedral, where Mulinge's tribute was likely read aloud.
