Published on September 22, 2021, the Africa Deaflympics Ball Games qualifiers at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi witnessed a surprising turn of events, with Egypt and Senegal qualifying for the semifinals without kicking a ball.

Nigeria's opponents, Egypt, benefited from their opponents' misfortune after two Nigerian players tested positive for Covid-19 last week, forcing them into quarantine.

Meanwhile, Ghana failed to show up for their encounter against Senegal, and their preliminary fixture against Libya was also cancelled due to fatigue and jetlag.

Senegal will face Cameroon in the first semifinal encounter today, while Egypt will meet Mali in the second semifinal.

Cameroon edged Gabon 2-1 in a tough quarterfinal match, while Mali beat Libya 2-0 in another quarterfinal contest.

Libya, however, managed to finish seventh overall in the tournament after defeating Gabon 3-2 in a thrilling match.

Libya's victory was marked by a series of goals, with Ibrahim Adgagbe opening the scoresheet for Gabon in the 40th minute, only to be equalised by Ahmed Ajeeldi in the 52nd minute.

Abdulbasit Salim scored a free-kick in the 60th minute to give Libya a 2-1 lead, but Darik Dikombou equalised for Gabon 10 minutes later.

Ahmed Ajeeldi sealed the win for Libya in the 77th minute, slotting in a right flank shot that gave them the deserved 3-2 victory.
