On July 4, 2019, celebrated pastor Mark Kariuki tied the knot with the love of his life, Joyce Wachera, in a grand ceremony attended by 6000 guests and five different caterers.
Mark, a former teacher who graduated from Asumbi Teachers College in the 1970s, had previously been an evangelist and Bishop of Deliverance Church Nakuru.
He met his late wife, Joyce Nduta, at Mvita Primary School and they wed in 1979, having three children together: Daniel, Nick, and Lynn.
After Joyce's passing in November 2007, Mark remained devoted to his faith and continued to serve his congregation.
Reverend Margaret Wanjiru Muchai, National Coordinator of Deliverance Church and Resident Pastor of the bride's church, House of Bread, shared that a friend from America had prophesied Mark's marriage for mid-2019.
Mark met and fell in love with Joyce Wachera, who had been a head usher at the church for eight years, and proposed to her.
The couple's daughter, Lynn, expressed her happiness at her father's newfound love, stating that all he wants is companionship, and that the wedding was not a concern for him.
She also shared a bittersweet feeling, having been the lastborn for 30 years but no longer.
