Kenya's Ministry of Health confirmed 515 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, September 18, 2021, bringing the country's total caseload to 246,296.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the cases were detected from 7,981 samples tested, raising the total to 2,494,312. The positivity rate stands at 6.5 per cent.
Of the new cases, 488 are Kenyans, while 27 are foreigners. The age range of those infected spans from a four-month-old child to a 102-year-old individual.
Health officials reported that 634 patients have recovered from the disease, with 540 recovering at home and 55 in various health facilities. This brings the total number of recoveries to 236,803.
The Covid-19 death toll has risen to 4,980 after 15 more patients succumbed to the disease.
