On September 18, 2021, Liverpool's Sadio Mane shot at goal, a moment captured by REUTERS.
Mane's resurgence has been a welcome sight for Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp, as the team navigates a tight title race. The Senegalese forward's third goal in four Premier League games set the tone for a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace.
Mane's return to form has been particularly notable, given his struggles last season, where he scored just 11 league goals. However, he has made a strong start to the current campaign, reaching a century of goals in all competitions for the Anfield club.
His goal against Palace also marked a Premier League record ninth consecutive goal against the London club, a testament to his skill and confidence in front of goal.
"I am lucky to score so many goals against Palace. But the most important thing was the three points. Right place, right time. I am lucky and happy. Thank you to all the fans, club and staff. Without them I am nothing," Mane told BBC Sport.
Mane's comments reflect his appreciation for the team's support and his own good fortune in scoring against Palace. He also expressed his desire to continue playing against the London club, saying, "It would be great to play them every single weekend. In my head I am always thinking it is possible (to score). I will keep trying and trying and trying."
Despite some scares from Palace, Mane felt that his side deserved the win, citing their hard work and preparation. He also praised the team's set-piece play, saying, "We didn’t create many chances today, but we did very well from our set-pieces."
