On September 17, 2021, Namibia's Christine Mboma made history at the World Athletics Under-20 Championship, claiming the 200m title with a championship record of 21.84 seconds.
Her impressive performance, which also secured a silver medal for Namibia in the 4x100m final leg, marked a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.
Now, Mboma returns to her favourite hunting ground in Nairobi, Kenya, for the Diamond League meet, where she will face a talented field, including American Sha'Carri Richardson.
Richardson, who was banned from the Tokyo Olympics due to a drug suspension, was no match for Mboma when they first clashed in Brussels two weeks ago, with Mboma storming to victory in 21.84 seconds.
Tomorrow's meeting at the Moi International Sports Centre will also assemble one of the best ever men's 100m fields ever put together on African soil, featuring 2017 world champion Justin Gatlin and his compatriot Trayvon Brommel, who is the fastest man in the world this year.
