Victor Wanyama Breaks Silence on Kenya's AFCON Exit

Kenya's Harambee Stars were eliminated from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after losing to Senegal 3-0 in the final group stage match.

Despite the disappointment, midfielder Victor Wanyama has expressed his gratitude to the team for their efforts and has vowed to help them improve for the next tournament.

Wanyama, who has been a key player for the team, acknowledged that they had learned a lot from their experiences and were determined to come back stronger.

"We have learned enough as a team and it's hard to leave now but we need to get some training first and we know it will help us to improve later," Wanyama said in an interview with Goal.

He also praised the team's spirit and determination, saying that they had shown great resilience in the face of adversity.

"For some teams, they were getting training, and others it was their first time participating in these tournaments and we were able to adapt quickly. And we have the ambition to come back," Wanyama added.

Kenya's Harambee Stars will now focus on the upcoming CHAN tournament, which is scheduled to take place later this year.

The team, led by coach Sebastien Migne, will face off against Tanzania in the group stage.

Wanyama's comments come as a boost to the team, who are looking to bounce back from their disappointing exit from the AFCON tournament.
