On September 16th, 2021, Fifa released its latest rankings, with Kenya's Harambee Stars climbing two places to position 102.

The improvement comes after the team recorded two consecutive draws against Uganda and Rwanda in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

Just a day prior, Football Kenya Federation parted ways with national team head coach Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee on mutual consent.

East Africa's Fifa rankings see Uganda at position 86, Rwanda at 128, Tanzania at 132, and Ethiopia at 134.

Senegal remains the top-ranked team in Africa, followed by Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Nigeria at positions 20, 25, 30, 33, and 34 respectively.
