On September 16, 2021, Citizen TV presenter Jeff Koinange shared a shocking story of being scammed by an international reggae artist who visited Nairobi. The artist, from a famous Jamaican reggae band, had performed at an event hosted by Koinange, but the payment never came through.

Speaking on his morning radio show on Hot96, Koinange stated that years after hosting the event, he was still waiting for his payment. His fellow radio host Nick Odhiambo chimed in, affirming that Koinange even avoids listening to songs from the group since the ordeal.

Despite the setback, Koinange accepted the fate, stating that he had moved on. However, he did not delve deeper into the details of the event, including when it happened.

As the conversation unfolded, Nick Odhiambo jokingly suggested that Koinange would be waiting at the airport for the group's next visit, saying, "Call that Rastafarians." Koinange responded with a calm, "It's all good brother, that is life." The group had also been meeting with local investors, planning to establish agriculture and hospitality businesses in Nairobi.

The international reggae band, known for their sweet vocal harmonies and innovative roots rhythms, has been a prominent force in reggae music for over twenty years. Koinange, on the other hand, has been hosting various events, including a popular country music festival, Country Roads, featuring musician Sir Elvis.
