Published on September 15, 2021, Kabi WaJesus, a 30-year-old YouTuber, has shared his harrowing story of how he overcame a life of substance abuse and immorality. In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Kabi, whose real name is Peter Kabi, revealed how he used to drink excessively and smoke bhang as a young boy.
According to Kabi, he started drinking and smoking bhang in class 5, with his friends influencing him to engage in these activities. His mother tried to convince him to stop, but he refused to listen.
”Nikiwa class 6 I went to visit someone… Nilifika uko nikakuta chupa mzima ya pombe. I took that mzinga nikaikunywa almost yote… I almost died. Tulikunywa pia na family member. Tukikunywa akaanguka coz alikuwa younger than me. I had heard that mtu akikunywa pombe anafaa kuendea maziwa. Mimi kukimbia kuendea maziwa kwa duka, pia mimi nikaenda nikaanguka uko. I fell right there nikajiumiza mapua ata mimi nikaanza kutoa povu…”
However, Kabi's life took a drastic turn when he almost died from excessive bhang consumption. He credits God for giving him a second chance and helping him to overcome his addiction.
Today, Kabi is one of the most successful YouTubers in Kenya, with over 400K subscribers. He credits his success and healthy love life to God.
