On a quiet Wednesday last week, Kenyan Afro Neo-Soul singer Dela Maranga exchanged vows with her partner Dr. Reign in a civil wedding at Sheria House in Nairobi.
The intimate ceremony was attended by the couple's immediate families, marking a low-key celebration of their union.
When asked about their decision to opt for a civil wedding, Dela explained that she wanted to avoid the drama and excessive spending often associated with traditional weddings.
"I think normal weddings have a lot of drama and spending for nothing. I chose something that would make my day special," Dela said, emphasizing her desire for a day that would be just about her and Dr. Reign.
The couple has also planned a private celebration for their friends, which will take place soon.
