On a visit to Kavote, their home area, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru came across the plight of twin brothers Samuel Comba and Antony Muriuki, who had achieved a mean score of B+ despite facing numerous challenges in their education.
Having had to drop out severally from Kavote Mixed Day Secondary School, where their 65-year-old grandmother struggled to maintain them, the twins were on the verge of missing an opportunity to join university due to lack of fees.
However, Governor Waiguru made a promise to assist them throughout their university education, a promise that was fulfilled on Sunday when the County Executive Committee Member for Education, James Kinyua Mutugi, presented to them school fees cheques on behalf of the governor.
