Published on September 15, 2021, the Magical Kenya Tembo Naming Festival is set to take place on October 9 at the Amboseli National Park.
The festival, which aims to raise funds for the conservation of elephants, has already collected Sh10 million towards its goal.
Twiga Tours CEO Minaz Manji handed over a donation of an undisclosed amount to Tourism CS Najib Balala, who was accompanied by Rahim Manji, sales and marketing manager at Twiga Tours.
During the event, Kenya Breweries Ltd donated Sh1 million towards the initiative, adopting two elephants at the park in the process.
Speaking at the event, Balala emphasized the importance of conservation, stating, "Conservation of wildlife resources requires us to be innovative."
He also urged other organizations to join the initiative, saying, "Conservation is an expensive affair. It requires concerted efforts to achieve the required results."
The Kenya Tourism Board Chief Executive, Betty Radier, also emphasized the importance of conservation, stating, "Conservation is something that should be a concern for every one of us because it also has an impact on our tourism industry."
