On Saturday evening, Kevin Onyango, a 34-year-old man from Siaya county, returned home from work to find his wife, Emmaculate Mayavi, 42, missing. He later tracked her down to a local chang'aa drinking den in Jera village, Ugenya, where he found her in a drunken state.
According to detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Onyango descended on his wife with kicks and blows, further immobilizing her. He then bundled her onto a wheelbarrow and pushed her home, where she developed complications and passed away during the night.
The suspect is currently in custody at Sihay Police Station, being processed for arraignment to answer to murder charges. The incident occurred on September 11, 2021.
