As the global chip shortage continues, Apple users may soon face the brunt of rising prices for Macs, iPads, and iPhones. The Cupertino-based tech giant relies heavily on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for its chip production, and recent reports suggest that TSMC is increasing its prices.

According to Nikkei Asia, this price hike is the most significant affecting several electronic gadgets production. The impact is expected to be felt in the high-end sector, with prices potentially increasing for devices in the entry and middle-level next year.

Industry specialists predict two possible scenarios: costs staying high due to clients pushing for more modest chip creation, or costs falling once demand flattens and chip makers need to adapt to their capacity.

For those eager to upgrade, waiting a little longer may be the best option. However, if it's essential to purchase a new iPhone or MacBook, buying older models with greater availability in stores could be a viable alternative. Prices for these devices are likely to rise in the near future.
