Kenya's national deaf basketball team kicked off their inaugural Africa Deaflympics Ball Games Qualifiers campaign with a 3-1 loss to Senegal at Kasarani Stadium on September 11, 2021.
Senegal's Seck Harona scored a brace, including a penalty in the first half, to help his team secure the win. Harona's impressive performance was capped off with his second goal of the tournament in the second half.
Kenya took the lead through captain Bashir Yahye's screamer in the 20th minute, but Senegal drew level nine minutes later through Harona's powerful low shot from the edge of the box.
The hosts were reduced to ten men in the 82nd minute after right back Gasper Asituha was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on his marker.
Kenya will now look to bounce back in their next match against Mali on Wednesday at Kasarani Stadium.
