Published on September 12, 2021, Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has expressed her unwavering trust in God, believing that one day she will carry a baby in her womb.

Her statement comes after a Facebook account operating under her name falsely claimed that she had given up on ever having a child.

Denying the claim, Odhiambo stated that she has accepted the will of God and moved on, emphasizing that she is a mother to the motherless and proud of that.

She drew inspiration from the biblical story of Sarah, who became a mother at an advanced age, and expressed her desire to pull off a similar miracle.

‘I have not commented about not having a child. I want to pull a Sarah at 100 years. A baby is coming at 100 years,’ she said.

Odhiambo regretted that some people saw the fake remark and started mocking her due to her political stance, but expressed gratitude to those who empathized with her situation and prayed for her wish to be fulfilled.

She also clarified that childlessness has not affected her mental health, stating that she has never lacked sleep or gotten into depression.

Furthermore, Odhiambo emphasized that having a child does not change one’s character, saying, ‘If you are an idiot, with or without a child you are still one. If you are merciful, with or without a child you still are.’
