Uhuru Donates 10 Buses to Schools and Community Groups

On Friday, 10th September, at State House, Nairobi, President Uhuru Kenyatta donated 10 buses to various secondary schools and community groups from across the country. The recipients included the Catholic Women's Association of Maralal Diocese and Marafiki Football Club from Nyeri County.

Among the schools that received the buses were Tumu Tumu School for the Deaf in Nyeri County, Marifano High School in Tana River County, Achego Girls Secondary School in Kisumu County, and Olorukuti Secondary School in Narok County.

Other recipients included Rukanga Secondary School in Kirinyaga County, Mnagei Secondary School in West Pokot, AIC Moi Girls Maralal, and Kisima Girls from Samburu County.

As part of government efforts to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic, the Head of State also donated 2,000 re-usable masks to each of the schools.

The brief handing-over ceremony was attended by several political leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Samuel Poghisio and Samburu County MP Maison Leshoomo, as well as MPs Naisula Lesuuda, Ali Wario, Kanini Kega, Ngunjiri Wambugu, James K'Oyoo, Kabinga Wathayo, and Gichuki Mugambi.
