On September 10, 2021, Jambojet made history by becoming the first airline to connect Nairobi directly to Goma, the capital city of North Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The low-cost carrier, a subsidiary of Kenya Airways, launched its maiden flights from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi to Goma airport, marking a significant milestone in its expansion into the central Africa region.

According to Karanja Ndegwa, Jambojet's Managing Director, the airline is committed to providing affordable and reliable services as it seeks to expand its network in the continent.

"We are excited about the growth prospects in the region. We have an ambitious plan to develop our network, and we are proud to be the first low-cost airline to venture down this route," Mr. Ndegwa said.

The two-hour flight will operate twice a week, with the frequency expected to rise to four times a week on demand. The return fare starts from USD 397 (Sh43,670) for the Nairobi-Goma route, while one-way fares from Goma to Nairobi start from USD 207 (Sh20,900) and from Nairobi to Goma USD190 (Sh22,770).
