Kenya's fuel prices are set to skyrocket by Sh7.99 in the latest prices review, affecting motorists from September 15 to October 14.
The Energy Petroleum and Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has attributed the rise to increased platts and demurrage bills.
According to a source, the prices will increase due to the rise in platts and demurrage bills, with another hike expected in October.
Super petrol will retail at Sh135.13 in Nairobi, while Diesel and Kerosene will cost Sh115.95 and Sh111.27 respectively.
Published on September 10, 2021, the latest prices review comes after two months of unchanged fuel costs, despite an average increase of 7.8 percent in landing costs for petrol, diesel, and kerosene.
The National Treasury had previously set aside Sh1.4 billion for the operations of the fuel price stabilization mechanism in the second 2020/21 supplementary budget estimates.
