It's been two years since gospel artiste Ruth Matete lost her husband, Pastor John Apewajowe, in a tragic cooking gas accident. The former Tusker Project Fame winner was pregnant at the time and had to navigate a difficult period in her life.
However, with the arrival of her baby girl, Toluwa, Ruth has been able to find comfort and peace of mind. The little one is now taking her first steps, and her mother is overjoyed.
“Toluwa ananionyesha mambo hii nyumba. Juzi she almost dropped my Groove Award. She is so excited that she can walk akishikilia vitu. Such a joy seeing her grow,” Ruth wrote on social media.
As Toluwa prepares to turn one, Ruth is asking her fans for ideas to make the day memorable. She wants to celebrate her daughter's special day and is open to suggestions.
“Her birthday is next month. I have no idea how to go about it. I really want to celebrate that day. Any ideas? The only thing najua is nataka tung'are yetu yote hiyo siku,” she added.
Ruth has been open about her experiences as a mother, and it's clear that she's loving every moment of it. She's been sharing photos of herself and her daughter on social media, and it's clear that they're a happy family.
“To be honest, I am really loving this hood called motherhood. For this child I prayed. For this child, I waited patiently. For this child, I cried. And God, the promise keeper didn’t fail me. He granted me my heart’s desire. I will serve Him till He returns or calls me home,” Ruth revealed.
