Collins Kibet, grandson of former President Daniel Arap Moi, is embroiled in a court battle over his children's maintenance. In a Nakuru court, Kibet claimed he is financially strained and unable to offer more than Ksh1 million annually for their health cover.

Published on September 10, 2021, Kibet's affidavit counters his ex-wife Gladys Jeruto's demands for Ksh1 million every month for their 11 and 9-year-old children.

He alleged that he depends on friends and relatives to make ends meet, and his personal finances have been greatly affected due to his depression diagnosis and loss of business.

Furthermore, Kibet denied being married to Jeruto, claiming he was not mentally stable at the time of their relationship. DNA tests later confirmed his paternity of the children.

He also requested that his children be transferred to a public school, where their education would be sponsored by the government.
