On July 3, 2019, Jacque Maribe visited Dennis Itumbi at the DCI offices in Nairobi, where he was arrested in connection to a fake letter detailing an alleged assassination attempt on Deputy President Ruto.
Maribe was seen accompanying Itumbi's lawyer and other friends and family at the DCI HQ before he was transferred to Muthaiga police station, where he spent the night and appeared in court the next day to answer to his charges.
Itumbi has been a vocal supporter of Maribe, who was arrested alongside her boyfriend Joseph Irungu for the murder of businesslady Monica Kimani. He has continued to show solidarity through supportive poems and regular court appearances.
The two have been the subject of speculation about their relationship, with some suggesting they are lovers, although they have dismissed these claims, saying they are just friends.
Photos of Maribe visiting Itumbi at Muthaiga police station have sparked interest, with many wondering about the nature of their relationship.
